Hidden Gems in Hove

Hidden Gems in Hove

Hove is known by many as a beautiful seaside town with quaint streets and charming residents. But beyond the usual tourist hotspots, there are some hidden gems that only the locals know about.

Hove Lagoon
This man-made lake is a popular spot for water sports, but there's something else that sets it apart from other lagoons: the Hove Lagoon Model Yacht Club. This club has been in operation for over 80 years, and its members are serious about their hobby. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the tiny sailboats gliding across the water on a windy day. Why not grab your bike and cycle down there on a spring morning, just a 10-minute ride away from our homes at Grand Avenue.

Brunswick Pub
This place is a true Hove institution and only a seven-minute walk away from Grand Avenue. With a friendly and laid-back vibe that makes it the perfect spot for a pint or two, this pub also hosts a variety of events, from live music to quizzes, so check their website to see what's on.

Café Rust
If you're looking for a cheeky caffeine kick you can't go wrong with Café Rust. This local favourite serves up a great cup of joe and a dreamy brunch, making it a one stop shop for your Sunday plans. Their offering includes all the favourites such as avocado toast with poached chilli eggs and tofu scramble on toast. It’s less than 10 minutes away from our homes at Grand Avenue.

Hove Museum of Creativity
Just nine minutes down the road, we have the Hove Museum of Creativity. This museum may not be as famous as some of the other museums in Brighton and Hove, but it houses some of the finest craft collections in the country. The exhibits include everything from local history to art and fashion, and the building itself is a beautiful example of Victorian architecture.

Upside-Down House Brighton
Just a 20-minute walk along the seafront from Grand Avenue, you may be met with a house that seems, just not quite right… The upside-down house in Brighton has become somewhat of a landmark in the area - explore its curiosities, walk on ceilings and walls, and of course take plenty of pictures for your socials.
