Windsor Castle boasts the title of being both the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. A visit to Windsor includes entry to the awe-inspiring State Apartments and St George’s Chapel. A complimentary family multimedia tour is also available, which brings to life many magical characters.

Lookout Discover Centre is the perfect destination for children interested in science. The Centre hosts a wide variety of themed interactive exhibitions such as “Build It”, where children are encouraged to construct a house. There’s also an outdoor playground for kids of all ages.

With an endless supply of engaging and entertaining rides and experiences all based around the world’s most popular toy, it’s of little surprise that Legoland is the most visited theme park in the UK. It’s also great fun for both children and adults alike.

Situated next to The River Thames, this 30 acre outdoor wildlife park has long been a firm favourite among local families. The park’s attractions include farm animals, play areas, beautiful gardens and a train ride.

The Bucklebury Farm and Deer Safari Park is a fantastic choice for nature lovers. The park allows children to handle smaller animals, such as rabbits and guinea pigs, and also permits the bottle feeding of lambs, donkeys and Shetland ponies. Plus, entrance to the Park gives visitors the opportunity to see over 150 deer in their natural habitat.

Step into this indoor tropical rainforest and enjoy an amazing array of exotic plants, animals and ecosystems. This one-of-a-kind ecological attraction also boasts an educational centre to teach children (and adults) about the importance of conserving the rainforest.

Bekonscot Model Village and Railway has been entertaining generations since opening in 1929, and is the world’s oldest model village. Set in the 1930s, the model village gives visitors a miniature view into what life used to be like in England at the time. While Bekonscot is not strictly located in Berkshire, it’s worth a mention due to its family-friendly set up and the wide variety of scenes depicted such as castles, coal mines and farms.

Dinton Pastures offers outdoor activities such as paddle-boarding, sailing, canoeing and kayaking as part of after-school, weekend and school holiday courses. A great venue for older children and teenagers to let off some steam.
