Our guide to the top 10 healthy eateries

Move over California, there is now a spectacular array of vibrant and nutritionally dense food on offer at affordable prices across the capital. Here are a few of our favourites.

The Mae Deli

If there’s one place where you should have high expectations, it’s The Mae Deli, run by Ella Mills of Deliciously Ella cult fame. However, we’re pleased to report that the dishes taste just as good as the Instagram feed looks. And that’s saying something.

Address: Three locations across London (Marble Arch, Bond Street and Herne Hill)

26 Grains

This pint-sized café in Neal’s Yard has a ginormous soul. It specialises in colourful sweet and savoury porridges jam-packed full of nutritious ingredients. Like the name suggests, a variety of grains, from black rice to barley, litter the menu, making this healthy haven a must-visit.

MIldreds

This London institution has been serving up vegetarian food since 1988. Mildreds is a fast-paced and atmospheric restaurant that is entirely worthy of the reputation that precedes it. Take our advice and opt for the Sri Lankan sweet potato and green bean curry.
