The property market, along with the rest of England, has been on lockdown for the best part of the last two months. However, last week the Government announced that development show homes can now re-open and viewings are permitted, providing it is possible to safely social distance. 

At Southern Home Ownership, we are looking forward to welcoming our customers into our show homes, and will begin conducting viewings again in the very near future. The safety of our customers will remain our top priority, however, and we will be ensuring strict social distancing measures are in place. 

Get On The Property Ladder With Shared Ownership 

If you’re a first-time buyer looking to purchase a new home, now is a great time to start the buying process. As a result of the pandemic, The Bank of England has slashed interest rates which has reduced mortgage costs, making it even more affordable to take that first step onto the property ladder. 

All of our properties are available through Shared Ownership, whereby you purchase a share of a home (typically between 25% and 75%), and pay discounted rent on the share you don’t own. This results in a smaller deposit, and crucially a smaller mortgage - as you only take out a mortgage for the share that you own.
