Woolwich Crossrail

Woolwich Crossrail

Crossrail is coming to Woolwich. The new travel links makes excellent investment and the perfect place to commute from.

Crossrail is coming to London, and one place to benefit from this high-speed line is Woolwich, South East London.

Woolwich will sit on the Elizabeth Line (Crossrail), which is scheduled to link east and west London. It will dramatically reduce rail journey times for all involved. This makes it a fantastic place to commute from, plus a great investment, if you’re buying a home.

To put this in to context, it currently takes you 19 minutes to get from Woolwich to Canary Wharf. With the new Elizabeth Line, this will reduce your travelling time to only eight minutes. Equally, it’s brilliant for getting to Central, or indeed, West London.

Travelling to Bond Street currently takes 36 minutes; with Crossrail it will only take 21 minutes. Plus, if you’re jetting away via Heathrow, you can check in, go through security and have a coffee in the time you’re now saving. It currently takes one hour 25 minutes. With the new rail link, it will reduce this time by 38 minutes, taking only 47 minutes in total. Plus, they’ll be 12 trains an hour. Never miss a flight again.

But that’s not all; Woolwich is also experiencing some impressive regeneration to the area. The Council has announced plans to build a new leisure centre in Woolwich, which will replace the existing Waterfront Leisure Centre.

The redeveloped Spray Street will create a new landmark destination and gateway to Woolwich town centre, and will include a cinema, shops, cafes and restaurants. Thomas Street will also follow suit.

Crossrail is due to be completed by December 2018.
