With Christmas less than a month away, we’ve compiled a round-up of the best festive markets in the capital for your annual fix of mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and gift shopping.


Winter Wonderland 

What’s Christmas in London without a visit to Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland? You’ll undoubtedly spend your time rubbing shoulders with the crowds, however don’t let this deter you - it’s a fantastic place to shop, skate and be merry.

Southbank Centre Wintertime Market 

Visitors to the Southbank Centre Wintertime Market can expect to find Nordic-inspired winter chalets sat on the banks of the Thames, each full of traders selling beautiful gift ideas. However, where this market really excels is seasonal food and drink such as raclette and bratwurst.

Christmas in Leicester Square 

Leicester Square Christmas market is back for another year and features 25 Bavarian-style wooden huts stocking hand-crafted wooden toys, festive ornaments, traditional foods and everything in between.

Tickets: FREE admission. Tickets must be purchased for Santa’s Grotto and shows.



Brought to you by the co-creators of Street Feast and Field Day, Winterville, on Clapham Common, plays host a whole bevy of activities such as ice-skating, fairground rides, roller disco and mini-golf, as well as traditional market stalls. However, the pièce de résistance has to be the one-off live performances from South London Soul Train, The 2 Bears, Norman Jay, Sink the Pink and Erol Alkan, to name just a few.

Greenwich Wintertime Festival 

The historic grounds of the Old Royal Naval College is the setting for Greenwich Wintertime Festival which features live music, street performers, a theatre and skating rink, children’s shows and a traditional Christmas market.

Christmas by the River at London Bridge 

With glorious views of the Tower of London and London Bridge, this festive cracker boasts a selection of Bavarian-style wooden chalets each hosted by an independent trader. Expect handmade crafts, mulled wine, craft beer and hearty food.

Jolly Hobbies Market 

Calling all Japan lovers. Head to Crouch End on Sunday 10th December for the Jolly Hobbies sixth Japanese Christmas market, featuring delicious delights such as handmade sushi, gyozas, green tea cake and more. You can also stock up on authentic Japanese crockery, antiques, art and handicrafts.

Massive Arts Christmas Fayre
