Who better to serve up a killer roast dinner than a butcher themselves? Hill & Szrok is a butcher’s shop by day and cosy restaurant by night. They are experts in their craft, making this possibly some of the best meat you will ever eat. Though you’ve got to be fast, they stop cutting around 6pm and then it’s a race to grab one of twelve seats for dinner. Mind the elbows on your way in. Plus, the menu is whatever the chef is feeling on that particular night, so you’ll never have the same dish twice.

If looking for a roast with a canal view, then No. 90 is the choice for you. Placed just on the edge of the River Lee canal, they have a cosy terrace placed just on the edge for you to eat your stunning roast in true tranquillity. The restaurant has a quirky yet homely feel, and their food is no different. Their vegetarian and vegan options are pretty great as well.

Sitting proudly at Broadway market, Cat & Mutton is a brilliant pub that has been welcoming patrons since 1792, and it’s just as loved today as it was back then. If you’re spending the day strolling around the stalls, then this is the perfect place to stop off once you’re all browsed out. As much as they are known for their fabulous ale selection, they are just as much known for their roasts. They are piled with ample veg, crispy roasties, gravy and a generous portion of the main event, consisting of either aged beef sirloin, roast chicken or lamb.
